We’re 10!!
In July 2023 we turn 10, and to celebrate this milestone we are looking back at our favourite campaigns.
A lot has changed in the social media and digital marketing industry over the past 10 years, let’s take a look!
Our farthest reaching campaign: The #FoamRoam competition for Foam Coffee Bar
#FoamRoam was a social media campaign developed for Foam Coffee Bar in Leederville. We were one of the first agencies in Western Australia to jump on the trend of social media competitions (this was back in 2014!).
Perth coffee drinkers were encouraged to purchase a takeaway coffee at Foam Coffee Bar, take a photograph of the cup in an interesting location and post it on social media with the hashtag #FoamRoam.
The winner, judged according to creativity and impressiveness of location, earned a year’s supply of coffee.
By using the hashtag #FoamRoam, hundreds of entrants were converted into brand advocates, and it didn’t take long for the competition to reach as far as NYC, Vietnam, Abu Dhabi and LA.
The campaign checked all the boxes to improve brand visibility and engagement and Foam certainly won some new regulars out of the promotion!
Our most remote campaign: Growing the Cocos Keeling Island’s social following by 1600%
The Cocos Keeling Islands are a group of breathtaking coral islands 2750km northwest of Perth.
As amazing as the islands are, distance is a major hindrance to tourism. In 2018 we were engaged to develop a strategic social media advertising and content strategy to grow awareness of the Islands.
Clear, engaging and relevant content was curated for Facebook and Instagram with a focus on cut-through, shareability and message relevance.
Our advertising services resulted in an increase of 5k followers to 85k followers. That’s an increase of 1600%!
A campaign we’ve had the most fun with: The Memory Game on Instagram Stories for Live Ningaloo
We’ve had fun over the years creating memorable content for our client Live Ningaloo.
Creative Instagram Stories have been one way we’ve helped the account increase its reach and engagement, our favourite being the Memory Game.
In the game, emojis of different sea life popped up on the user’s screen one by one, and the user had to remember this order when answering a poll on the next Story.
We love implementing creative Instagram Stories to help drive engagement. Polls, quizzes, stickers, Q&As and user-generated content also work to achieve this!
Our most reactive campaign: AFL ads for Optus Stadium during the pandemic
Perth’s Optus Stadium appointed us to grow brand awareness and drive web traffic and ticket sales for the 2020 AFL Perth hub games.
Optus Stadium is a 60,000-seat, world-class venue, however, amidst an ‘unprecedented’ 2020 AFL season, the stadium needed to capitalise on the opportunity the Perth hub games presented to recoup as much as they could from the season.
We broke our strategy into two key parts, one focused on those outside of Perth and the other on those based in Perth.
For those residing outside of Perth, the games were a chance to turn a weekend in the city into an AFL getaway. For those within Perth, the games were a rare chance to see the travelling teams play against different teams.
We delivered a series of paid campaigns focused on those whose interests matched popular AFL programs and the teams playing in the Perth hub. We made ourselves well aware of each community’s interests, locations, and the hashtags they would be using and aimed right where it mattered.
Our social media advertising and strategy resulted in more eyes on the Optus Stadium & Ticketmaster sites, which grew brand awareness and ultimately meant more tickets sold.
Most steps in one day for a client: State of Social
State of Social is the country’s most in-demand digital and social media marketing event. The conference packs essential marketing education, inspiration and networking into two fun-filled days at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
State of Social keeps us on our feet. We certainly get our steps in over the two days, from organising the speakers to distributing merch and ensuring the workshops run smoothly!
We couldn’t do it without the crew at Optus Stadium, the volunteers, and of course, founder Meg Coffey.
State of Social runs annually in August. Head to stateofsocial.com.au to find out more.
The most distance covered for a campaign: The regional workshops we delivered for Tourism Council WA
We travelled all over Western Australia, from Broome to Esperance and everywhere in between, to deliver workshops for Tourism Council WA.
Our Managing Director Meg’s 1:1 and group social media training workshops offer actionable takeaways that businesses can implement right away. We can give you the tools and knowledge needed to grow your brands and boost engagement on social media.
